Additional Projects
Design of CRH head office Dublin board room. This project was designed on behalf of John O'Neill architects, Irish Town ,Co. Dublin. Situated in a Georgian house on Fitzwilliam square, I developed new concepts for a dated 1970's meeting area. The plan was to have a natural white slab stone diamonding accross the floor. A rigid streamlined solid oak table to seat 16 with Eames chairs in white leather. The walls were to be adorned with an Oval room dark carpet navy to make the central area the main focus for meetings & presentations. To the sides I had designed streamlined minimal low tables for storage & phone access. I designed a lighting scheme to incorporate controlled light to adapt the enviroment depending on the occaision, with a feature modern streaked glass chandalier as the central piece.
There is a large rear window in the boardroom that looks out to unsightly offices and an uncharactaristic garden – I designed a treatment for this using bamboo slats and simple plants to mask the plain uninviting background.
Travel agency – Monkstown travel. Preliminary drawings were created for future development of this site, with an emphasis on modernity & spaciousness in a small area. I designed several work stations of Glass & brushed steel, and incorporated floating glass shelving washed with up-lighters for an appealing space-age look. I also concieved a world map lit from behind and punched out with pointillisation in aluminium.
